Even though it's Christmas & I'm getting to spend lots of time with my family, I am a little sad.
You see, this is the VERY FIRST CHRISTMAS that my sister & I won't get to see other on Christmas Day! Her husband's family lives in Oklahoma & they drove up there yesterday.
I guess when you think about it, though, it makes sense. In years past, my sister & her husband would either leave OK on Christmas Day & drive to my mom's house for dinner & gifts that night. Or, we'd all meet at my mom's Christmas morning & then my sister would drive to OK that night. Every year, they were driving 6 hours on Christmas Day. So, finally, I think my sister had enough & decided they wouldn't travel on Christmas anymore. And, with Jackson getting older, my sister decided it was mean to let him open all his gifts & then say, "Okay, it's time to put it all away & drive in the car for 6 hours!".
Even though I miss her, I can look forward to next year, when she'll be HERE for Christmas!
