I have been buying Christmas gifts since July.
Yep.
July.
I just kind of started buying & I couldn't stop.
A lot of gifts I bought during our trips to Dallas & Atlantic City in September. We went to the Galleria in Dallas & our hotel in AC was in the middle of 4 blocks of open air shopping.
Seriously, people.
In AC, it was ME, surrounded by some of my most FAVORITE stores that were surrounded by CASINO'S (hello? blackjack, anyone?) that were surrounded by the BEACH.
Does life get any better?
Nope.
The only drawback of that trip was that I was the only girl in a hotel room full of boys.
Well, okay.
3 boys.
One of them was my husband.
Another one was Aaron, our sports reporter. And, the 3rd was Aaron's friend.
I had to share the room with them because it was FREE, since Matt & Aaron were covering the Jermain Taylor fight. And, really, it wasn't so bad. We were only in the room to sleep.
Ok, sorry. I digress.
Anyway, the reason you're jealous is because I AM 95% DONE WITH MY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING.
Go ahead.
Be jealous.
It's okay.
I understand.
I have this HUGE Tupperware bin that I put all the Christmas gifts in & the other night, I got it out, took inventory & wrote down who's getting what gift.
I pretty much KNEW who was getting what, but I hadn't officially ASSIGNED each gift to a person yet.
As I was going down my list, I realized I was better off than I thought I was. Just about everyone on my list has at least 1 gift, some have 2 & some have 3.
I have 3 more people to buy for, plus I need to get a gift for my sister's stocking.
That's it, people.
Oh, I also have to buy for Matt. But, I always save him for last because I have the most fun buying his gifts. And, because it takes me FOREVER to finally decide what to get him.
In 2 weeks, we'll start decorating for Christmas. This year we're getting new lawn decorations because our reindeer's are rusty & most of the bulbs burned out last year.
And, then after we decorate the tree, I get to wrap presents.
I LOVE wrapping presents.
Matt makes fun of me because I use 4 different patterns of paper & if one person's getting more than 1 gift, I wrap each one in different paper. And, then when I put them under the tree, I alternate between the patterns. Matt says that's just my OCD kicking in.
Whatever.
And, this year, for my Christmas village?
None of that horribly fake looking "rolled up" snow. Nope. At Holiday House tonight, Matt bought FOUR GALLONS OF THE REALIST LOOKING SNOW, without being real snow.
We're heading into one of my most favorite times of the year, people & I can't wait.

people like YOU suck.
SUCK I say. I feel so inadequate.
I love Christmas too and start shopping well in advance! I have the majority of my shopping done as well, just J to go for the most part. Like you, I save the hubs for last because it's most fun.
Send Christmas pics of your holiday village.
Good job on getting your Christmas shopping done early! I'm making a lot of gifts this year and I've been at it for a while now, too. Don't have a choice.
Christmas is fun!
God bless :)
Good job! I love Christmas too. I've done SOME shopping.. .I just loaded up on stuff for the kids in the family from the dollar bins at Target. They have lots of Cars (the movie) stuff and Disney princess stuff!
Good job! usually I'm one of the "early birds" but becuase this year I've decided getting everyone gift cards is easiest. Last year we went all out on buying gifts people would appreciate, and ha! wouldnt you know it. . .most of the stuff we bought for siblings and (his)parents is sitting in a corner somewhere collecting dust. I love christmas villages, we have one but no room to put it up. . .=o(. . . yet. . .
I've been reading your blog via Laura Spence's for the last couple of months. Love your writing style, sassy and unapologetic :) And now you've got me psyched for Christmas decorating as well! Just bought Martha's Christmas issue of MS Living and plotting my next decorating move...
Yay for Christmas!! I'm getting so excited too, though I'm not even close to your Christmas shopping awesomeness! Reading about it gets me motivated, though. I've had a reminder on my Outlook that says "Christmas Shop" that has gone off every 5 minutes for the last 3 weeks. I just keep hitting snooze... I guess I should start shopping!!
BTW- email to follow about HRC!!
Okay, I'm jealous :) I've bought 1 gift so far...just 1! I need to get started! I always wait until the last minute. Maybe next year I will try to buy all through the year instead of doing it all at the very end! Good for you, being almost done!
I am soooo with you! I have a sickening amount of Christmas wrapping paper. I bet your gifts are too pretty to open!
Oh you're SO ahead of me!!
